oGs and eSahara Unite

oGs, eSahara and Razer have announced today that they are joining forces in a bid to provide better support for both team’s players.

Its been no secret that the French squad eSahara have been making great efforts to establish a Starcraft 2 presence in Korea recently. It began by picking up Check from Prime, and was followed by transferring Naama and DeathAngel overseas to join the Korean battleground. Later they picked up even more ex-Prime players, Maka and Hongun.

It seems as if their efforts are being rewarded too as today they have proudly announced a union between themselves and the Korean Starcraft 2 side oGs that will be funded by the peripherals manufacturer Razer. Whether this means that the eSaraha guys will be moving into the oGs house is currently unclear but it will certainly mean a greater opportunity for international travel for the players on oGs.

In the official press release Ryad Abour, CEO of eSahara said:

eSahara is very happy to start our partnership with Old Generations and Razer. We have many exciting projects in the future that our fans and followers have to look forward to as a result of this strong alliance between the three of us and e-Sports will undoubtedly be better off as a whole with our combined efforts.

The news is great for eSahara but fans of Team Liquid immediately questioned how this would affect the current oGs-TL partnership that has been in place for well over a year now. In a follow up message to the Team Liquid community, Spunky, the Head Manager of oGs illuminated the situation.

Spunky informed the community on Team Liquid that the:

oGs relationship is not going to change with TL. To make things simple: oGs and TL are more like family, we can’t even really call each other business partners. I love all the players on the team and have great relations with Nazgul.

Currently we are sharing this home out of neutrual benefits through practice for players and TL always supports and helps our oGs players. So, nothing is changing!

Our partnership with eSahara is more like what we had with sk-gaming during 2011. Although our business partnership did end a way I did not want it to towards the end with sk-gaming, we are looking to have a successful year with eSahara where both parties can benefit lots. I love eSahara’s CEO Ryad, very cool guy, and I hope all of you look forward to what our partnership can show through out 2012 for the improvement of both teams!
