MLG have had somewhat of a hard time lately. With the qualifiers for the MLG Winter Arena underway and the actual event drawer nearer they’ve hit somewhat of an unlucky spree.
Last week some overeager teenagers tracked down the results for the EU qualifier by going through the match history of all the players involved using the Blizzard systems. After they found out who were in the top 8, and were thus qualified to travel to the USA for the event, the results were added to the Liquipedia page. Although it took only a couple hours before the Admins removed the leaked results by then Reddit had been swarmed with threads about the leaks. MLG tried to save the situation by saying the results weren’t accurate. Something which, apart from having a swapped 1st and 2nd place, was entirely false.

This time around the results for their Korean and American qualifiers have been leaked. However it’s not the overzealous fans which are to blame. In stead MLG blundered with their site, allowing at least certain types of users to access their qualifier brackets and results. Which types of users is at the moment uncertain, but other sites have confirmed they received the results from an anonymous source. How this even happened is not known, and is by now not even relevant anymore. The results for the bracket can be found in both 1,2 these screenshots.
