Copenhagen Games: Prize Pool

Following a successful 2011, the organisers over at Copenhagen Games have disclosed the prize purse for the upcoming 2012 event. It’s one that should put a smile on a lot of players faces too.

In 2011 Copenhagen Games added Starcraft 2 to its established Source and 1.6 event. All three tournaments were very successful, but this year the CPH promises to be one of the biggest events of the Source calendar. Today they announced the prize pool for the events, and with 55,000 euros spread across the games it’s certainly going to pull in the big teams from across Europe.

The Prize Pool:

Counter Strike 1.6: 20.000 euro
Counter Strike Source: 20.000 euro
StarCraft : 6.500 euro

The exact breakdown for the prizes hasn’t yet been revealed, but with a history of paying out prizes at the event itself I can see many teams making this event a priority even if they don’t see themselves winning.
